Whats up people,

     Lord Nikon here again coming to you with another post but from the home theater side of things this time. 

A few months ago i purchased a product that i didn’t realize how much easier it had made life until a few days ago, so it seemed i should fill you guys in on it .

Now when you think universal remotes you probably think of those 10-15$ chunks of useless electronics that would never work or if they did only for about 2-3 weeks. It seems they have come a long way given all the whiz-bang technology that has come about in last 3-5 years. The product that i came across was the logitech harmony remote for the xbox 360. 

     As you can see it is a very good looking piece of equipment. The ease of use on something like this is paramount why else would you buy it? It comes with a small piece of software that contacts their database which relieves you of searching through some asinine little book for a string of numbers to enter. All you have to do is select the make/model of your gear and find it in the database with the USB plug from the remote to your computer. You can even create the “activities” you would like to perform,such as watch DVD,Play XBOX 360,watch TV etc. As you can see there is the small green screen that houses your “activities”. It truly is one-bullton multifunction that actually works. 

     You see watch DVD, You press the corresponding button, and in 5-10 seconds your TV is on and is set to the proper input, The device you use to play your DVD’s is on and your surround setup is on set to the proper input and even internal settings are stored .so it sounds just like you want it to in whatever situation. and you can use it to look around the XBOX 360 dashboard and download movies or even play some of the arcade games. It may sound a little bit frivolous , But if time is money this thing will pay for its self in no time when you don’t have to shuffle through 5 or 6 remotes with all the Tivo’s and DVR’s that exist today.

 The bottom line is if you are like some people i know who’s favorite TV chair has become reminissent of the bridge of the star ship enterprise this is a great way to streamline your home entertainment options.
